Grey ship on a grey morning

HMAS Cholues in Wooloomooloo Bay. HMAS Choules is a Bay Class Landing Ship Dock, based on the Royal Schelde Enforcer design. Used to be a Britsih ship but we bought it. It was formally handed to the Australian Defence Force in October 2011. ADFS Choules arrived in Western Australia in December 2011, and was commissioned as HMAS Choules on 13 December 2011. The ship is named after the late Chief Petty Officer Claude Choules. Claude Stanley Choules was an English Australian who was the last combat veteran of the First World War, and the last military witness to the scuttling of the German fleet in Scapa Flow.
